#180 The Art of The Taper and Recovery

Each week social media is filled with runners posting about the challenges of their taper and recovery. More concerning is those boasting about a lack of taper and recovery. The_Art_of_The_Taper_and_Recovery

In this episode of The Partnerunning Show we look at successful strategies for getting the most out of your taper and recovery.

We look at why these often neglected running strategies are overlooked and we put into context the claims of those who don’t taper or take time to fully recover.

Determining the purpose, context and priority of your event is vital to your taper and recovery strategy and we look at the impact this makes. For example is you next event you “A” race or a training run for your “A” race? This will have a major impact on your approach to taper and recovery as does you current fitness, experience and training.

#174 Is 100km the new marathon?

With some outstanding performances at the recent 100km world championships and an increasing popularity for 100km and ultra events the question arises: Is_100_km_the_new_marathon

Is the 100km the new marathon?

In this episode of the Partnerunning Show we explore the case for and against.

We don’t see this as a debate about better or worse, there is a place for all distances as one person’s 5k is another person’s 200 mile. Rather it is an insight into the “running boom” as people seek to go further not just (or even) faster.
